Cleaning

It has been said of me (Vicki) I am a terrible housekeeper. It is true.

My priorities are other places - with the Lord and people. I would much rather just hang with my family or serve than clean.

But today, I cleaned - dusted, vacuumed, cleaned bathrooms, organized the desk. It feels (and smells) good.

Hopefully my family won't get too excited because I am sure it won't be an ongoing thing!

God is good.

Do Nothing Day

We had a fun do-nothing day. I (Vicki) took the day off since I have oodles of vacation time and have an aversion to losing it after 360 hours..... It was great to sleep in, wander through Walmart then Bass Pro Shops (prefer Cableas), then have dinner with Kara and Tom.

Tomorrow is more of the same (except dinner with Kara and Tom). It is half price day at Goodwill and breakfast for $2.00 at the Goodyear Swap Meet.

There is nothing better than spending time with your best friend, lover and husband!!

God is good.

Quiet

Brian has been in tactical training for a few days so my evenings have been quiet. It is crazy how much I miss having him around, even though on his work days he basically comes home, eats, we play a game or plan our trip, then he is in bed early.

In less than five weeks we will be cruising to Mexico. Then a few weeks after that we will head to California to celebrate David's high school graduation. Currently he is asking to go to Disneyland......

Funny how we spend so much time planning and looking forward to our travels. God has been planning Heaven for 2,000 years. It is going to be so much better than any trip we could imagine.

God is so good.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Too much time since the last blog. This time of year brings auditors to work, flowers to the desert and busyness to our lives.

David is getting ready to graduate. So exciting. He went to Rocky Point with Chelsea and her family last week - within the first few hours was stung by a sting ray. He also gave Chelsea a promise ring..... So young. But, she is a beautiful girl and brings out good in David.

Jay passed his test and has his GED. Not sure what he is going to do, with almost 10% unemployment it is tough.

Kara and Tom like to spend time with us - at Cabela's!! Brian and Tom can spend hours looking at guns, camping stuff, guns, fishing stuff, guns.... Looks like we are going to turkey hunting in October. Hopefully I'll learn to cook a fresh turkey!!

Heather is finishing her courses up quickly. She too is looking for a job.

We are excited to see where God is going to move us - we know it will be in Goodyear - just don't know if we will be able to purchase (our heart's desire) or continue to rent for a while. We can't wait to be closer to church, our friends and for me - closer to work!!

Brian and I have been spending lots of time together just enjoying each other. After twenty years he is still my best friend. We can spend hours talking or not talking. In five weeks we are headed on another cruise - can't wait to be away from everything.

God is so good to us. He holds us close in His arms and loves on us. Who could ask for more. We are blessed!

Children

It is bittersweet to watch your children grow.

We are so proud of Kara and Tom. Early on they are making wise decisions, not necessarily the fun ones. Today I get to go watch Kara put on a Pampered Chef party. She is willing to work a second job to help them get on their feet and purchase a home. We admire that.

David is making the tough decisions of what to do after graduation. It is fun to walk through the process with him. He is really thinking long term, not a quality often associated with young people.

Praying for our children as God leads them. Pray they will love Him with all their hearts, souls and minds. Pray they will glorify Him in all they do.

God is so good.

Plans are Changing

Well, just when we thought it was safe - things changed. God is closing doors to buy a home right now. So we are listening. In a few months we will check it out again and see where He leads.

The cool thing now - we can spend time together. Planning a cruise in a few weeks.... it will be fun and healing. Can't wait to spend time alone together.

We are blessed to have the Lord, to have each other, to have wonderful children, an awesome church. God is good.
